We use a new technique called L.A.S.T. (Laser Axillary Sweat Termination) for the removal of sweating.
The procedure is performed under local anesthesia. It is suitable for patients with excessive sweating or with little or no reaction to botulinum toxin.
L.A.S.T. Technique uses wavelenghts which are absorbed in fatty tissue containing sweat glands.
Before the treatment, we make a „iodine test“ which indicates activity of sweat glands. Subsequently, anaesthetic solution is injected and through the same puncture laser optic fibre (1mm) is delivered into the tissue. The laser energy transforms into heat, which destroys sweat glands.
The treatment takes about 20 minutes. The treated area must be cooled intensively following the treatment.
Up to 90 % of patients experience considerable reduction or almost complete removal of sweating. Patients may return to their normal activities within 2-3 days. The treatment is repeated after several months with patients with strong activity of sweat glands.
